Living & working in Germany

ARRIVE · CONNECT · MOVE FORWARD

A new country. Your own path. Support along the way.

Starting a new life in Germany brings many questions, as well as your hopes, skills and experience. At StudyGerman, we put people first. We listen, take your goals seriously and help you turn a big ambition into manageable next steps.

German is more than a learning goal: it helps you act independently, build relationships and shape your future. We aim to be a springboard and a companion, in class and beyond.

SUPPORT THAT FITS YOUR SITUATION

More than a German course

01

Personal guidance

Unsure about your next step? We offer guidance on your language learning and career path. Together, we consider your starting point, goals and suitable next programmes. For specialist questions, we help you find the appropriate contact.

02

Translate your documents

Through our subsidiary MTS Translations, we can offer translations of necessary documents, for example for applications or preparing a recognition procedure. First check with the receiving authority which documents, languages and any certification it requires. We can then agree the scope, timing and cost.

Guidance, translations and follow-on programmes are arranged separately. We clarify the scope, any fees and entry requirements beforehand; they are not automatically included in the language module fee.

Six tips for starting life in Germany

01

Organise housing & daily life

Plan accommodation, living costs and your journey to class early. Keep important appointments and documents in one place. Check with the responsible authority which registration is required when you move in.

02

Plan for health & security

Check your health insurance cover for the whole stay. Save important contacts and find medical practices nearby. Ask someone to explain unfamiliar contracts before you sign them.

03

Use German every day

Practise in small steps while shopping, travelling or talking to neighbours. Write down words you actually need and bring your questions to class. Mistakes are part of learning.

04

Meet people

A sports club, volunteering, a library or a language tandem can help you connect. Regular contact helps you feel at home in Saarbrücken and use German outside the classroom.

05

Show your professional strengths

Gather certificates, employment references and details of your previous training. Think about your skills and goals. The Recognition Finder can help you identify the authority responsible for your profession.

06

Prepare for training & employment

Start building a clear CV and suitable application documents early. Practise explaining your experience. Check the language requirements and the conditions that apply to taking up employment in your situation.

YOUR JOURNEY CONTINUES

From language learning to a career path

A language course can be your first step. At LECTOR, we look ahead: what would you like to achieve with your German? What experience do you bring? And what support will help you pursue your goal?
