Good to know

Your questions. Clear answers.

From your first enquiry to your classes in Saarbrücken: find the key information to plan your next step.

Your classes

Learn together in person, with a clear weekly routine.

Where do classes take place?

You learn at LECTOR, Bleichstraße 27, 66111 Saarbrücken. All StudyGerman courses are taught in person. We do not offer online courses.

When does the first course start?

A1 starts on Monday, 11 January 2027 at 14:00. Classes run Monday to Thursday from 14:00, Saarbrücken local time. Daily breaks and the exact finishing time are still to be confirmed.

How intensive is the course, and what does UE mean?

A teaching unit (UE) lasts 45 minutes. You have 5 units a day on 4 days: 20 units per week. This equals 15 clock hours of teaching per week, plus breaks.

How long do A1, A2 and B1 take?

Each module lasts 8 weeks. Together, A1, A2 and B1 comprise 24 teaching weeks. Start dates for A2 and B1 and any breaks between modules are still to be confirmed, so the total calendar duration is not yet fixed.

Which module should I request?

A1 is the starting level; A2 and B1 build on existing German skills. Select your preferred level in the enquiry form. If you are unsure, we can discuss your previous learning experience before you choose a course.

Enquiries & fees

The key figures, and what happens after you get in touch.

How do I enquire about a course?

Enter your name, email address and preferred module (A1, A2 or B1) in the form. You also confirm that the participant is at least 18. Your enquiry is non-binding and does not reserve a place.

What happens after I submit the form?

You receive an acknowledgement by email. Our office will contact you about your preferred course and the next steps. This acknowledgement is not a binding booking or confirmation of a course place.

How much does a module cost?

A1, A2 and B1 each cost EUR 850 including VAT per module. The price covers one 8-week module with 20 teaching units per week, not all three modules.

Do I need to pay when I enquire?

No. The enquiry form does not take a payment. You will receive payment details and contractual information before making a binding booking.

What if I have not received an acknowledgement?

Check your spam folder first. If the website confirmed receipt and displayed a reference, include that reference when contacting us. Email sekretariat@lector-gmbh.de or call +49 681 925650.

Examination & arrival

Useful information to help you plan your next step.

Is the B1 examination included in the course price?

No. An optional B1 examination at LECTOR is planned after the course. It costs EUR 250 separately. The examination board and date are still to be confirmed.

Do I automatically receive a B1 certificate?

A B1 examination certificate requires you to pass the relevant examination. Attending a language course alone does not mean you have passed the B1 examination.

Does enrolling guarantee a language course visa?

No. The responsible authorities decide on visas and residence. Before making plans, visit Visa & arrival for information about requirements, supporting documents and the responsible German mission.

Where can I find information about arrival and accommodation?

Visa & arrival explains how to prepare for your stay, accommodation and the next steps after arrival. Classes take place in Saarbrücken. When looking for accommodation, consider your journey to Bleichstraße 27.
